Teacher Training - Foundation Course

This foundational course provides an 8 hour trauma-informed training for anyone who wants to deepen their skills in helping children be more connected and present (Educators/ Clinicians/ Parents/ Yoga teachers) . Together we will explore practices for children preschool age to teens that integrate stillness and movement with the intention to help center our children, develop their attention and increase their ability to be available in each moment for learning and connection.
What will I learn
How our children's attention span is being challenged and strategies that can be used to develop their attention muscle
Age-appropriate meditation and relaxation practices for children
Explore practices in stillness and movement that foster present moment awareness
Compassionate classroom management skills
How to teach from a trauma-informed perspective
Explore the challenges of teaching in school environments, studios, and other community spaces
How to use adaptable lesson plans for classroom, school gym, yoga studio
Ways to deepen your own Yoga & Mindfulness practice
Creative ways to set up new classes in your community and local schools.
This program aligns with SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) principals and the core curriculum standards for physical education in NY state and other states. This is the first part of a three-part training. Anyone who completes the Foundation, Level 1 and 2 courses will graduate ready to teach the Ready Steady Focus program in schools (classroom/as part of the Physical Education program), yoga studios and community spaces. Upon completion of the Foundation Course of students will receive 8 Yoga Alliance CE hours in Children's Yoga.
